S’MAC

September 6, 2007

I wonder if S’MAC would be interested in franchising and opening a restaurant in Oregon — and letting me run it. Now that’s something I could get on board with.

The Autumn Film

September 6, 2007

Oh, a new artist to love: The Autumn Film. Looks like they’re coming to Portland in the spring.

Religious Adherence

July 18, 2007

They really aren’t exaggerating with that whole “Oregon is the least religious state in the US” thing.

Missed

July 17, 2007

Several things I observed but didn’t blog from a couple weeks ago: higher IQ in firstborns (NYT), reflections on change and sameness (Rebecca Sower), the most beautiful, relevant admissions website I’ve ever seen (and I hate that it belongs to my alma mater’s rival) and Type Camp.

Baby Got Book

July 12, 2007

The best thing I have watched this summer: Baby Got Book. “When a girl walks in with a KJV with a bookmark in Proverbs, you get stoked. … I’m not talking about a paraphrase, because Paul wouldn’t have used those anyway.”

PinkPrankProject

June 28, 2007

DIY Book Promotion

April 10, 2007

Miranda July takes a crash course in DIY web-based book promotion with a dry erase marker, a camera and some kitchen appliances. The color coordination series is priceless.

Graph Rollercoaster

April 4, 2007

Budget meetings would actually be enjoyable if every graph was presented this way: home market values, 1890–present, as a rollercoaster.

See the US in One Week

March 13, 2007

One man visits 50 states in one week. He also visited all of California’s counties in 58 hours and the eastern states in one day. I would do it in two weeks with a bit more sleep and a few more photos.
